I am asking for my wife, she is nursing our first child and would love to know if there are Nigerian foods that boost milk production in breastfeeding mothers.

Several Nigerian foods have been known to trigger instant milk production in Nursing mothers and one thing quite similar with most of the foods is that they all contain lots of moist.

  2. Oatmeal: Due to their high fiber and iron content, oats are generally considered a stimulant for breast milk in nursing mothers. You can make oat porridge or turn them into swallow and pair with vegetable soup.
  3. Fish: Nigerian cuisine includes various types of fishes like sardine, mackerel, catfish, and tilapia. they are good source of omega-3 fatty acids, which are beneficial for both the mother and the baby.
